NRG's Polished Hood Dampers made for your stock hood. These units allow the hood to remain up and stable even under high wind conditions and were thoroughly tested for repeated use to avoid injuries while working on a vehicle caused by the hood falling off on an individual. With the use of oil filled shocks and lightweight dampening for lightened hood applications, these dampers have Lift-Assist and Slow-Decline features that provide a safer work area and a way to exhibit modifications under the hood.
Stainless steel with lightweight alloy shaft and casing with hydraulic oil seals end links for mounting points for durability and heat resistance. Weighs in at only 200g on average, the NRG Hood Damper is a must-have addition to any hood prop vehicle.
The danger of working under the hood is that there?s a possibility of the hood accidentally closing. With the addition of NRG hood dampers this possible dangerous scenario is greatly reduced. NRG offers dampers in full and low pressure depending on whether the vehicle is equipped with a heavy factory hood or an aftermarket lightweight FRP/CF hood.
