The NOVEL Carbon Fiber Aerodynamics Kit is one of the cleanest exterior upgrades available for the Lexus GS F. The kit adds a more aggressive and refined appearance while still following the factory body lines of the vehicle.

This installation overview covers the main NOVEL aero components for the Lexus GS F, including the front lip spoiler, side spoilers, rear under spoilers, and rear diffuser. The installation is straightforward for an experienced installer, but it does require careful test fitting, drilling, surface preparation, and hardware installation.

This is not simply a peel-and-stick installation. NOVEL’s instructions call for test fitting, marking hole locations, drilling, installing supplied hardware, applying double-sided tape, and securing the components with bolts, clips, nutters, nutter rings, or tapping screws depending on the part.

General Installation Notes

Before beginning the installation, it is important to test fit every component. NOVEL recommends that temporary placement and final installation be performed by two or more people. This helps keep each carbon fiber piece properly aligned before the tape and hardware are fully secured.

  • Test fit each part before removing any tape backing.
  • Use masking tape to mark mounting positions.
  • Carefully mark all required hole locations.
  • Drill the marked mounting holes where required.
  • Install the supplied nutters or nutter rings where applicable.
  • Thoroughly degrease both the vehicle surface and the carbon fiber part surface.
  • Do not remove all of the double-sided tape backing at once.

The double-sided tape backing should only be partially removed at first. Position the part on the vehicle, confirm the alignment, then slowly pull the tape backing while pressing the part into place. This helps prevent misalignment and makes it easier to fine-tune the fitment before the tape fully bonds.

Front Lip Spoiler Installation

The front lip spoiler installation begins by removing the factory mounting screws from the left and right wheel arch sides of the front bumper.

After the factory screws are removed, temporarily position the front lip spoiler on the vehicle. Mark the mounting hole locations on the underside of the factory front bumper. Once the locations are marked, drill the holes and install the supplied nutter rings.

Front Lip Spoiler Included Hardware

  • Front lip spoiler body
  • 11 M6 bolts
  • 11 M6 washers
  • 11 M6 spring washers
  • 11 nutter rings
  • 13 blindfold caps
  • Double-sided tape

Once the nutter rings are installed, apply the supplied double-sided tape to the front spoiler. Position the lip onto the bumper, slowly remove the tape backing, and press the spoiler firmly into place.

The front lip spoiler is secured using the two factory bolts near the wheel arches, plus the 11 supplied M6 bolts, washers, and spring washers. Once the lip is fully secured, install the blindfold caps to finish the mounting points.

Side Spoiler Installation

The side spoilers mount to the lower portion of the factory side steps. The NOVEL instruction diagram shows the left side of the vehicle, but the same process applies to the right side.

Start by temporarily positioning the side spoiler on the bottom side of the factory side step. Mark the hole locations, then drill the marked holes. After drilling, install the supplied nutters into the holes.

Side Spoiler Included Hardware

  • 2 side spoiler bodies
  • 8 M6 bolts
  • 8 M6 washers
  • 8 M6 spring washers
  • 8 nutters
  • Double-sided tape

After the nutters are installed, apply double-sided tape to the side spoiler. Position the spoiler on the vehicle, slowly remove the tape backing, and press the part firmly into place.

The side spoilers are then secured using the supplied M6 bolts, washers, and spring washers at all 8 mounting points.

Rear Under Spoiler and Diffuser Installation

The rear section of the NOVEL kit includes the rear under spoilers and the rear diffuser. These parts install along the lower rear bumper area and help complete the more aggressive rear profile of the GS F.

For the rear under spoilers, temporarily position the parts against the bottom of the factory rear bumper. Mark the mounting position using masking tape or a similar method.

For the diffuser, temporarily place it against the lower surface of the factory bumper. Mark the hole locations on the factory bumper and under cover, then drill the marked holes.

Rear Under Spoiler Included Parts

  • 2 rear under spoiler bodies
  • Double-sided tape

Rear Diffuser Included Parts

  • Diffuser main body
  • 4 tapping screws
  • Double-sided tape

Apply double-sided tape to the rear under spoilers and diffuser. As with the front lip and side spoilers, do not fully remove the tape backing before positioning the parts. Set the pieces in place first, check alignment, then slowly remove the backing while pressing the components onto the vehicle.

The rear under spoilers are secured using the factory bolts and clips. The diffuser is secured using the supplied tapping screws into the holes drilled during the preparation stage.

Installation Tips

  • Have a second person help hold and align each part.
  • Do not rush the test fitting process.
  • Use masking tape to create visual alignment guides before drilling or applying tape.
  • Clean and degrease all contact surfaces before applying double-sided tape.
  • Do not fully remove the tape backing until the part is correctly positioned.
  • Check left-to-right balance before pressing the tape down permanently.
  • Take extra care when drilling into the bumper, side step, and under cover areas.

Final Thoughts

The NOVEL Carbon Fiber Aerodynamics Kit gives the Lexus GS F a sharper, more aggressive appearance while maintaining a premium OEM-plus look. The installation is manageable for someone comfortable with basic drilling, test fitting, and exterior aero installation, but proper alignment is critical.
